As someone who has spent the last decade travelling the world as a digital nomad, I’ve learned a lot about looking after myself both physically and mentally while on the move. It can be challenging at times, and we all have our low moments, but I’ve found ways to really help boost my mental health and wellbeing when I’m struggling. I’ve found ways to maintain my health and fitness levels while travelling from one place to the next, and to integrate that perfect morning and night routine no matter where I am in the world. My fitness is hugely important to me. I think for any adventure traveller it is important to nourish your body with the right foods, stay hydrated and to strengthen your body and train it to be able to take on those adventures. I love to get outdoors and go hiking, climb volcanoes, dance all weekend at festivals and swim in the ocean. So, my gym and fitness routine is tailored around boosting my health and wellbeing so that I can take on any adventure without fear.

When you spend so many years travelling solo, there’s no doubt it can challenge your mental health in new ways. I’ve faced everything from burnout and overwork, to domestic violence and serious car accidents and I’ve done it all solo. If there’s one lesson I’ve learned along the way, it’s how to look after myself, how to commit to self-care when you have no structure to your life, and how to rely on others when you’re fiercely independent.
