I’m a huge lover of these events, having ventured to several over the past few years. Vanlife festivals are an incredible way for creative minds to get together in a safe, exciting environment where everyone’s love for life on the road unites together.

When travelling solo in a campervan, it sometimes feels like you’re the only one living this way. Going to vanlife festivals each year makes me feel part of a community where I can be myself, exchange travel stories, pick up vanlife advice and tips, and make memories with new and old friends. I’m also honoured to have attended some of these events as a guest speaker, and I’m excited to return to this role in 2024!

I’ve put together a list of the top vanlife festivals worth visiting this year. Let 2024 be the year of pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, and getting social with like-minded people. Even if it’s your first time attending a vanlife festival, there’s no need to feel nervous. There are plenty of others who are new to vanlife, so buckle up, get socialising, and make some incredible memories!
1. Camp Quirky
Kicking off the list is Camp Quirky, a vanlife festival close to my heart as I’ve given talks on solo female travel for the last couple of years, alongside sitting on panels. It’s the festival baby of the one-and-only Quirky Campers, who buy, sell and rent camper vans and will be familiar to many aspiring vanlifers. One thing I’m very proud of is being part of the Diversify Vanlife UK platform they also created – the talks I have given have both been on the Diversify Vanlife UK stage and provide a platform for minority voices in the vanlife space. Each time I attend Camp Quirky, I’m reminded of what a wonderful camper community is out there, and how magical it is to have a beautiful space to share advice and gain knowledge. Unfortunately, Camp Quirky won’t be back until 2025, but as this is such a popular festival in the UK, with tickets selling out fast, I thought I’d give it an honourable mention on my list!

2. Campervan Campout
Looking for a jam-packed few days of fun and entertainment this summer? Campervan Campout might be the vanlife festival to tick your boxes. This festival features everything you can imagine such as a shopping village, live broadcast from VDubRadio, guest speaker interviews, a build and display vehicle show, wild foraging, family-friendly activities, and even an exclusive swimming pool for dogs. I’ll be at Campervan Campout giving a talk about solo female travel and solo female vanlife, so it would be great to see some friendly faces in the crowd if you fancy coming along!

Vanlife Fest is one big party for van-lifers! 4. Vanlife Festival
Vanlife Festival has such a friendly vibe, so it’s the perfect place for everyone from families and couples to solo travellers. It’s a festival perfect for admiring the work of others, especially those with self-build campers, gaining knowledge and skills in the various workshops, listening to travel talks, meeting YouTubers, dancing to live music, enjoying the delicious tastes of street food, and more.

5. Vanlife Eats
A picturesque farm at the heart of the green hills of Hampshire is the location for Vanlife Eats. This is one of my favourite vanlife festivals combining good food and music with a tranquil location and plenty of quiet spots to escape the crowds. The farm shop and brewery are just a couple of the unique elements of Vanlife Eats, and with diverse vendors, yoga, DJs, and a van bake-off competition, there’s something for everybody.

6. Van Love Fest
For three days rammed with music from DJs, comedy, workshops, a wellness village, and more, look no further than Van Love Fest. 7. Urban Van Fest
Open to both vans and tents, Urban Van Fest is a summer vanlife festival you won’t want to miss. All the action takes place in a quintessential English countryside setting surrounded by rolling hills. 8. Camper Jam
One of the most notorious vanlife festivals celebrating the classic VW camper is Camper Jam. This is a weekend full of VW lovers, showcasing their vans from T1s to T6s – they all have a place at Camper Jam! Music is a highlight of this festival, with talented acts such as Cloneplay and Kings Of Lyon taking over the stage throughout the weekend. Tree climbing and different themes for each day are just a couple of things to look forward to at this gem of a festival in Shropshire.

9. Vanlife And Overlander Celebration
After attending my first Vanlife and Overlander Celebration, I left with the biggest smile on my face, and plenty of inspiration I’ve carried forward into my campervan design. Seeing professionally built large-scale campervans, to old school wagons, overlanders and more, this is the festival to get excited about vehicles and explore the wild and wacky homes on wheels being driven around the UK and beyond.

10. VW Breakout
Similar to the last festival I mentioned, VW Breakout is more of a VW-specific festival where people from across the country get together and celebrate everything there is to know about VWs. From Doorslammer Drag Racing, to live music and a bar, campers can enjoy plenty of lighthearted fun, entertainment, and action for three whole days.
