Those who have been around for a while will remember my vanlife adventures in Australia and across Europe, well it was these that inspired me to invest in a campervan of my own when I returned to the UK, and now I love attending vanlife festivals and taking trips across the UK and beyond.
Road Trip Inspiration
Want to hire a van or buy one of your own? Where will you take it first? There’s so many amazing places to go on a road trip, Australia was one of my favourites! But even within the UK there are so many wonderful destinations, I had a blast taking my camper van to Cornwall, Devon and Wales. Here’s some great road trip inspiration to get you started:

It’s easy to get swept up in all the vanlife products out there but it can quickly get expensive if you don’t know what you need. Here I share my vanlife essentials, the products and things I’ve invested in that have really made campervan life easier and more comfortable.
PORTABLE BBQ
A portable, folding, barbecue is a must if you're considering vanlife! It's small, lightweight and perfect for taking down to the beach on a sunny evening.
No camper van is complete without a fridge for keeping those ciders ice cold for the end of the day after a long drive. Keep your barbecue supplies fresh.
If you work remotely or require off-grid power – this Bluetti kit is perfect for you. It is an investment, but the more self-reliant your van setup, the more freedom you have!
Who doesn't dream of campfires on the beach at sunset when they think of vanlife? Romanticise your life and get the marshmallows at the ready! This is one of my fave things I've bought for my van.
Perfect for inside and outside, plus this folding table packs away nice and neatly to conserve space inside your camper van. It's also one of the cheaper options I found that still looked nice.
Investing in a campervan was one of the best decisions I’ve made, it’s given me the freedom to work and travel, to have a flexible base, and has brought me closer to the vanlife community where I’ve made some great friends. Here’s tips for how you can get started in vanlife:
Vanlife has exploded across the travel scene over recent years. The phenomenon has become one of the most sought-after travel experiences for young wanderlusters. Perhaps it's the endless freedom or the return to a simpler lifestyle that appeals.
I didn’t realise how few solo female vanlifers were out there until I started travelling solo in the van. I love helping to give women the confidence to buy a camper van and feel safe while travelling alone in a van. I absolutely love my solo trips and have travelled all over the UK. I also now give talks at vanlife festivals about solo female travel to help inspire future female vanlifers.
I’ve put together a selection of road trip itineraries of amazing trips I’ve loved over the years, I have lots more coming for Australia, Europe and the UK so watch this space!
I’ve always loved being outside and exploring in nature, but since having my camper van it’s become a huge part of my life. I adore wild camping and escaping into the woods or to the beaches. Wild swimming has become a regular occurrence for me and brings me so much peace. It’s a wonderful way to connect with the great outdoors and get away from my laptop. Check out these guides on camping and I’ll have lots of wild swimming guides very soon!
My favourite way to explore new places is hiking and trekking, I love the physical challenge and seeing incredible nature views. Some of my favourite hiking destinations have included Australia, Slovenia, Costa Rica and Guatemala. Check out these hiking guides:
It’s so important when your van is also your home to ensure it is in the best possible health. Regular checks can save you from expensive repairs and if you’re regularly driving long distances, these checks become even more important. Make sure you’re ready for every eventuality!
