South Australia and Tasmania

Two very beautiful parts of the world that I would love to go back and visit one day. South Australia has so much to offer and such incredible coastline that I wish I’d had more time to explore. I was lucky enough to go and spend a week in Adelaide visiting a friend.

The week was spent exploring as much of the area as possible from the city to the beaches. I was also really lucky that an amazing little food and wine festival happened to be on at the same time I was visiting. I loved my experiences there with amazing friends and love sharing them with you guys to help guide your visit.

Exploring Hobart, Tasmania

Tasmania was one of my biggest loves in Australia. It caught me totally by surprise with it’s amazing food, mind-blowing scenery and epic hiking. I spent around a month on the island, two weeks of this was spent in Hobart which I absolutely loved.

I stayed in an amazing hostel called The Pickled Frog and met some amazing people who I explored the “city” with, climbed mountains, ate at the markets and visited the famous art museum, MONA.

Road tripping across Tasmania

The other two weeks were spent on one of my favourite ever road trips around the island. It took our small group up the East Coast towards Wineglass Bay and the Bay of Fires, before rounding the top on the Tasting Trail.

We then made our way back down the west of the island, taking in the most easterly landmass until Africa at the Edge of the World. Finally our trip took us around Cradle Mountain where we hiked the various trails including to the summit which included boulder scrambling in the snow!

Planning a road trip?

Our epic trip also took in 11 national parks across the island. Plus a lot of amazing food and drink, stunning camp spots and much more. I can’t recommend it enough. Read this section for guides on each place and how to plan. Check out this post on why you should road trip Tasmania!
