Thinking of going to Wireless Festival? I've been to the festival twice over the years and have created this ultimate guide to the Finsbury Park festival – complete with everything you need to know before you buy a ticket! This London festival is one of the most popular urban festivals in the UK and is dedicated to celebrating connection in all forms. The event usually has a pretty great line-up – plus for my readers who hate camping – this is the perfect weekend or day festival to attend. Not only is it super easy to access and just outside of Central London, but it's also possible to go to the festival and then travel home to cities outside of London the same night if you need to.

I've seen the likes of Drake, Calvin Harris, The 1975, J Cole, Stormzy, Post Malone, Chase and Status and many more headlining Wireless Festival, plus countless smaller acts take to the stage. I've danced my way around VIP with Debenhams, had my hair styled at the event, laughed with my university pals and eaten soggy chips. Wireless Festival is always a good time, but I'm definitely more a fan of long weekend festivals where you camp. They just feel so much more immersive than a festival in the middle of a city and you don't have the stress of getting home after the music ends. But, if you're there for the music and prefer a day-fest and no camping – this is the one for you!

What is the vibe like at Wireless Festival?

Wireless Festival is vastly different to the usual camping festivals I attend – it is such a city vibe and within the festival grounds you're surrounded by the high rises of Finsbury Park. It's a very London-centric crowd and very day festival vibes – often the crowd is full of celebrities, influencers and VIPs. The first time I went to the festival was with my university girlfriends and we had a great time, but I was very aware that the crowd seemed like one that could be easily agitated. I saw quite a few fights break out which I don't tend to see at the more chilled weekend festivals.

On my second time at the festival, I was invited along by Debenhams to enjoy the festival from VIP with a group of content creators and again, I had a fabulous time dancing in the crowd. It's also a mostly 20-something crowd, so if you're in your mid-thirties just be aware before you book a ticket. While I had a great time at the festival on both occasions, it's definitely not my festival vibe now I'm in my mid-thirties. The festival draws crowds of around 50,000 each day of the event.

Everything You Need To Know For Wireless Festival

Do you camp at Wireless Festival?

No there is no camping at all for Wireless Festival, so if you need to stay in London overnight, you will need to look at alternative accommodation, or ensure that you have time to catch the last train or bus home. You can search for hotels near Finsbury Park here, or keep reading for more recommendations for places to stay.

Can you bring alcohol into Wireless Festival?

No, you can't take alcohol into the festival. Any bags will be searched on entry and if they find alcohol or any other banned items they will be confiscated and you may be refused entry. Security is thorough and they patrol the festival grounds.

Is Wireless Festival safe for 15 year olds? Is Wireless Festival a safe festival?

From 2024, Wireless Festival has a number of security measures including sniffer dog teams, airport-style metal detectors and undergo both body/bag searches as a condition of entry. There is one of the strongest police and security presences I have experienced at a music festival worldwide. To be honest though, this makes me feel more uneasy than safe. As I mentioned, I have seen a fair few fights break out at the festival and the crowd can get a bit pushy. I don't think any festival is a safe place for an unaccompanied 15 year old personally, but Wireless does require any children of this age to be accompanied at all times by an adult.

Do you get ID'd at Wireless Festival?

Wireless Festival say that they will ID anyone who looks under 21 upon entry. There is also a Challenge 25 in place across the festival so you may be ID'd for alcohol and tobacco purchases.

What time does Wireless Festival finish?

Music at Wireless Festival tends to finish at 10.30pm each night of the event, then earlier on the Sunday perhaps at 9.30pm. Always check these times before booking travel.

Festival Fashion and Essentials for Wireless Festival

Wireless Festival is such a different vibe style-wise compared to camping festivals. Think a lot more sportswear and flashy outfits with a bit of glitter rather than full festival sequins and accessories. I like to call it urban festival vibes – so if you're anything like me you'll need to tone down the look and think stylish and good trainers rather than sequins/disco ball theme and festival boots. Here are the essentials:

  1. A bumbag for storing your lipstick, phone and essentials – trust me you won't want anything bigger! >> Shop this holographic bumbag
  2. The latest trainers to dance all night in! >> Shop adidas Sambas now
  3. Face gems or glitter to match your make-up.. >> Shop my fave face gems now

It's also worth checking out the festival hair and make-up stalls if you have the budget to get a makeover – there was a hair stall by Schwarzkopf when I was there with Debenhams and I had my hair done in space buns and the glitter you can see above. They did a great job but it was expensive and I would do it myself next time.

SIM Cards in Wireless Festival

If you struggle with rubbish phone signal in music festivals, you might want to consider getting an eSIM for the UK so you can try switching networks while in the festival to see if it helps. Or, if you know which network are sponsoring the festival, you may be able to get a temporary physical SIM from that network.
