A country that has been top of my bucket list for many years and a place I dream of visiting. I’ve long since had the image of myself going there to watch the Northern Lights from the comfort of my own private glass igloo.

It just looks so spectacular! While I may not have visited there yet, I have over the years done a lot of research and have put together posts with ideas for planning a visit.

Planning for an Iceland trip

Half the fun of travel is in the planning and getting excited for a trip. So no doubt I’ll reach fever pitch when I finally get to the Blue Lagoon and get to relax in those waters. The big question is whether to visit in summer or winter.

Because while the country is incredible in winter when it’s all snowy and icy. It also has a huge amount to offer in summer. Including better access to waterfalls, geysers and roads if you choose to road trip and explore yourself.

Watching the Northern Lights

I’ve always loved the idea of spending a few days watching the northern lights from an igloo but then also spending time exploring independently and getting to visit the beautiful waterfalls by myself.

I have no doubt that in the next few years I will finally tick Iceland off my list, it’s so difficult to plan in when you’re always on the wrong continent.
