Over the years, I have enjoyed being able to combine two of my passions – travel, and photography. They really do go hand in hand. When you travel extensively like I do you never run out of fantastic things to photograph. As a result, I have ended up with a stock of thousands of travel snaps and I am sure that you have hundreds too. So, today, I thought I would share with you some ways you can use them to enhance your home, please your friends and maybe even make a little money.
Use them to decorate your home
Of course, at the top of my list is using them to decorate your home. Who doesn’t want to wake up in the morning and be reminded of some of the best things they have done? Everyone does, so why not take your favourite shot, upload it to an online print shop website and order a stunning wall canvas. It will take you less than 10 minutes to do. If you like, you could get another copy created and sent to a friend or family member as a surprise present.
Use them to share your travel experiences with the world
These days building a website is surprisingly easy. You could use a point and click web builder and do so for free. Or better still use something like WordPress to do it and buy yourself a domain name and hosting, which would cost you between $20 and $25 a year.
You will learn a lot while building the site and sharing its content via social media. Writing about where you have been and using your photos to illustrate what you write will provide you with many hours of enjoyment.
Plus, once you start getting a few visitors there is the potential for you to monetise your website. For example, by selling advertising space on it or doing some affiliate marketing. It will take a while to get to this stage, but once you start earning this way you will be able to do so for many years to come. Or, if you have built a stand-alone website you can sell it for around 20 times the annual income you make. If you build a successful site it can turn out to be a little goldmine. Create an online travelogue
If you are not keen on that idea and only really want to share your travel memories with friends and families, opt to build an online travelogue instead. The one you create will be available to view on any digital device, but only for those you give access to. Most people enjoy the process of going back over their travels, organising everything, and uploading. Plus, any time you are feeling blue you can go online and review your travels. Use the tips in this article to build one you will be proud of and happy to share.
